Range C breeds success for John Vannet

Breedon Northern owner-driver takes delivery of new 32-tonne Range C from Renault Trucks Scotland

THE first-class service received from the Renault Trucks agent in Edinburgh with his previous truck prompted John Vannet – an owner-driver for Breedon Northern – to take delivery of a new 32-tonne Range C430.32 8x4 R E6.

‘I really liked the Lander, which I ran for five years, and the first-class service I’ve received from Renault Trucks agent David Philp Commercials was key to me choosing the brand again,’ said Mr Vannet.

‘This, combined with a decent payload around the 20-tonne mark, meant it was a straightforward decision to choose the Range C for my replacement vehicle.’

Supplied by Renault Trucks Scotland, the Range C is equipped with a Weightlifter Smoothline insulated 22ft tipping body, Edbro tipping gear and PM1300 load-cells, together with reverse and loading cameras.

Along with Kelsa light bars front, top and rear, two roof-mounted air horns and Alcoa aluminium wheels, Mr Vannet also specified the Range C for optimum comfort with heated seats, one-touch electric windows, air-conditioning and a leather steering wheel with cruise control.

‘Such a large proportion of my life is spent on the road so I went for some nice optional extras to make life more comfortable,’ he continued. ‘As well as being a great performer, the extra spotlights and the Scottish Saltire on the cover of the tipper body make it a real head-turner and a vehicle I’m extremely proud to drive.’

Delivering Breedon’s coated materials, asphalt and quarry products, including gravel, sand and hardcore, Mr Vannet’s new Range C works across the Tayside and Angus areas.

‘The truck’s been on the road for about a month and I love it. All of the work is on twisting country roads and I rarely touch a motorway or dual carriageway. The Range C is ideally suited to the work I do on challenging terrains; it’s manoeuvrable and robust, which means I can collect and deliver from all types of locations. It makes my day-to-day work easier and it really is a case of so far so good,’ he said.

Nigel Butler, commercial director for Renault Trucks UK, commented: ‘At Renault Trucks, we value long-term relationships – and so do our customers.

‘As a network, we are committed to delivering the best support throughout the life of every vehicle, and I am delighted the high levels of service received from David Philp Commercials played a pivotal role in John Vannet’s decision to select his next vehicle from Renault Trucks once again.’
